Zühlke is helping Schaerer AG to optimise its digital services for the B2B market. Sustained business success is facilitated by making the digital portfolio more flexible.
New digital strategy in a competitive market
Schaerer AG, a leading Swiss manufacturer of fully automatic coffee machines for professional use, is exposed to increasing competition in its B2B market. To survive in the market, the company has defined a new,
integrated digital strategy with the aim of improving customer satisfaction, reducing operating costs and becoming flexible enough to meet customer-specific requirements. Schaerer turned to Zühlke to provide technical support and develop the custom software needed for this.

Additional user requirements identified
The Zühlke team, consisting of IoT and software development experts, conducted a thorough assessment of the technical stack anddeveloped an architectural blueprint for a horizontally scalable, readily available solution. The existing IoT solution was reviewed and various technical restrictions that could potentially make it impossible to scale the solution as planned were identified. Different user groups – end customers and service employees – want to have additional functions such as mobile payment, as well as more options for managing the machines remotely.
Business success through new technologies
By providing Schaerer AG with a technological basis, the foundations were laid for enabling the company to offer new features and thereby generate more added value for its business customers. Today, Schaerer AG is no longer just known as a supplier of excellent coffee machines, but also as a provider of excellent service based on digital solutions. Early adoption of new technologies facilitates sustained business success.
