Course overview
The Cloud (Azure) Fundamentals / Azure Fundamentals course offers a structured introduction to cloud computing with Microsoft Azure. Participants gain an overview of essential cloud principles, benefits, and cost models, as well as governance, security, and data protection aspects. In addition, technical fundamentals are covered, including architecture principles, compute, networking and storage services, identity and access management, security, monitoring, and deployment.
The course combines instructor-led training with guided self-study to ensure both conceptual understanding and sustainable learning at an individual pace. Optionally, participants can deepen their knowledge in a hands-on workshop using core Azure services.
Key topics:
- Introduction to cloud computing (approx. 4h): fundamentals, service models, benefits, cost management, governance & data protection
- Technical deep dive (approx. 4h): architecture principles, compute, networking & storage, IAM & security, monitoring & deployment
- Self-study (approx. 2–3 weeks) including a fireside chat for deep dives and Q&A
- Optional: hands-on workshop (8h) with practical exercises using Azure core services
Course duration: 2 training days plus self-study (optionally extendable with an additional hands-on workshop day).
