With Justitia 4.0, its project of the century, the Swiss justice system is seeking to replace the current paper files with electronic dossiers, encouraging electronic communication between parties to proceedings and the judicial authorities.

The aim is for parties to use the central Justitia.Swiss platform for electronic correspondence and file access. Meanwhile, an eJustizakte application will also ensure that judicial authorities are able to manage, edit, and send electronic files efficiently. 

Zühlke developed the Justitia.Swiss platform with the help of a cross-functional team combining a range of complementary capabilities. The platform needed to meet the strictest requirements for continuous security and intuitive operation. 

Thanks to an agile approach and an established scope governance process, Zühlke delivered the platform within the agreed timetable and budget, ensuring that the development process was continuously informed by new learnings.

The development of the Justitia.Swiss platform marks an important step towards achieving the primary goal of the Justitia 4.0 project: creating a secure digital justice system in Switzerland where justice can be accessed without going through mountains of paperwork.
