Duties and responsibilities

  • You have at least 5 years of professional work experience.
  • You are responsible for ticket handling (2nd/3rd level) within the Compute team.
  • You manage, maintain and improve Linux servers to ensure availability, optimal performance and security.
  • You maintain and improve VMware ESX, vSphere, Horizon environments and its physical host, ensuring performance, availability and security.
  • You assist colleagues regarding infrastructure requests and with troubleshooting.
  • You support internal IT projects, offering expertise in infrastructure management, virtualization, and its automation.
  • You automate standard service requests and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • You monitor and proactively address potential issues in the virtualisation and Linux server environment.
  • You document technical processes and configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing.

Technical and social skills / requirements

  • You exhibit precise and meticulous work habits to ensure accuracy in tasks and deliverables.
  • You display independence and initiative, contributing innovative suggestions for improvement.
  • You possess an excellent understanding of Linux systems, specifically Ubuntu.
  • You have experience in managing virtualisation environments and possess extensive knowledge of VMware infrastructure.
  • You have strong skills in creating, expanding, and adjusting scripts using PowerShell, Python and Bash.
  • You demonstrate a robust technical understanding of foundational IT concepts enhancing your troubleshooting capabilities.
  • You show a keen interest in staying ahead of IT trends, demonstrating a passion for understanding and experimenting with emerging technologies.
  • In our international environment you can communicate confidently in English, knowledge of German is an advantage.
