One of Asia’s premier design festivals, Singapore Design Week (SDW) is a celebration of creativity and innovation, championing thought leadership and showcasing the best of design from Singapore and beyond in our UNESCO City of Design. ​
 
As part of this year's SDW, join us at this live workshop hosted by Zühlke as we explore how persuasive design techniques can contribute to fostering sustainable behaviour and promoting a recycling mindset in society.
 
This community event will be a great opportunity for professionals, students, and enthusiasts from government, design, environmental management, and psychology to learn, collaborate, and discuss innovative ways to encourage recycling, minimise waste and promote a greener society under the Singapore Green Plan 2030.​
 
Persuasive design for a greener Singapore: Transforming how we think waste management​
 
In this workshop program, we aim to show how persuasive design techniques can actively promote sustainable behaviors and cultivate a recycling mindset within our society. Through a series of activities, participants can discuss, collaborate and gain insights into persuasive design techniques to promote recycling and sustainable behaviour.
 
As a result of this workshop, participants can: 
  • Gain an understanding of the principles of persuasive design and how they can be applied to fostering a recycling attitude
  • Acquire practical experience in designing persuasive solutions for recycling initiatives
  • Share examples of recycling and sustainability efforts that have used persuasive design to promote recycling​
  • Explore networking and collaboration opportunities with like-minded organisations and individuals.  ​

  • 9.30AM: Doors open for registration
  • 10:00AM - 10:40AM: The Talk - Persuasive Design & Design Principles
    • Welcome and opening address
    • Introduction to Persuasive Design Principles
    • Overview and discussion of green initiatives in Singapore & other countries

Our featured speakers include: 
 
Christina Ramoso, Lead UX Consultant, Zühlke
With more than 12 years of experience, Chrys has worked in various companies and specialises in Enterprise Applications and Digital ecosystems. She has lead teams from a team of UI/UX designers to full development teams. Through the use of research methodologies, she solves complex problems and produces insights to craft a well-developed solution. 
 
Nuwanthi Illukkumbura, Advanced UX Designer, Zühlke
Nuwanthi is a UX designer with over 11 years' experience designing mobile, web, and desktop applications for B2C and B2B2C markets. She is well versed in the complete software development lifecycle, with hands on experience in both design and development. In the past, Nuwanthi served as the lead UX designer for two SaaS products where she has led usability, product design, and UX efforts for internationally recognized software products used by millions of people.
