AutoScout24 is one the biggest internet platforms for trading in new and used cars. A new digital marketplace with the slogan ‘Everything to do with Cars’ is opening up a new field of business: the booking of workshop services. Car owners receive an overview of the workshops in the vicinity. They see the prices and can arrange appointments for a service directly with the workshop. In order to be the first to occupy this new market sector, AutoScout24 opted for an extremely agile approach. Zuhlke set up a team of developers who, with their technological and methodological know-how, matched the client‘s quality and time-to-market requirements.
The Zuhlke experts worked in Scrum mode. Thus, approaches and ideas were quickly validated, which enabled particularly short iteration cycles. Testers, designers, product managers and operational specialists were integrated into the development teams in order to avoid lengthy downstream acceptance processes. Continuous delivery allowed deployment of an individual new feature as soon as it was completed. Test-driven development and automated tests at every level of the application assured a high degree of quality, even when changes were being introduced frequently and rapidly. Advanced use of HTML5 was made to optimise the user experience in the browser. A NoSql database was used to support extremely high scalability of the application and flexibility of the data structure.
