Retirement View Portal

Scope

In response to the changes in pensions and retirement plans announced by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, a large insurance company wanted to manage a portfolio of retirement products in an integrated Retirement Account (RA) rather than selling the products separately through Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs) and supporting them through separate IT solutions.

It was decided to implement a digital portal to allow IFAs to enable the viewing and management of a consolidated account with all their customers’ retirement products.

Challenges

  • Changes in the law allowing people to buy retirement products other than annuities with their retirement funds
  • The insurance company needed a digital solution to capture this new market for the start of the new tax year
  • There was no clear view or consensus as to what the solution should be or look like
