Transforming the fashion industry for a more sustainable future

Vestiaire Collective is a global e-commerce platform that enables people to buy and sell luxury pre-owned fashion products.

With over 7 million international members located in over 50 countries worldwide, Vestiaire is looking to expand to new territories in Asia with the collective mission to encourage sustainability across the fashion industry.

The complexity of the platform’s legacy code made it challenging to implement new features across the IT infrastructure and support new market launches. Vestiaire enlisted Zühlke’s help in improving and modernising the legacy system while building new features, with the goal for greater flexibility and scalability to continue growing its business in new markets.

Creating a scalable and sustainable solution with Zühlke

With Zühlke’s full stack engineering and delivery experience, the team identified and addressed issues within the legacy system across various languages such as Angular, Python and PHP. The team also worked closely with Vestiaire to uplift the solution architecture through the implementation of new payment and localisation features on top of the existing infrastructure.

Adopting agile development practices, the team accelerates delivery and deployment of new selected features, with a focus on applying development best practices for timely delivery within the required timeframe.

Driving a successful market launch in Asia

Zühlke works closely with Vestiaire to redesign the existing legacy system to one that will be able to support Vestiaire’s long-term expansion plan. New payment and localised features were also built within the platform so that new markets can be seamlessly launched in the future. With the new solution in place, Vestiaire was able to successfully launch its service into a new market in East Asia.
