We are looking for a talented designer to join our multi-disciplinary team and lead on visual/UI and interaction design and craft best-in-class digital experiences for our clients and their customers.

Your job will include:

  • Leading on visual/UI, interaction design direction and production, from initial concept sketches through to working with developers to ensure designs are effectively implemented  

  • Producing visual/UI design deliverables, ranging from high-fidelity prototypes to final UI designs  

  • Encouraging user-centric design by using research insights to iterate and evolve designs to be inclusive, intuitive and delightful 

  • Working as part of multi-disciplinary teams, leading and facilitating UI design processes, communicating to, and managing expectations of various stakeholders  

  • Create design systems to be used across product portfolios 

  • Staying abreast of the latest methods and advocating the value of UI design across Zuhlke to ensure our work is rooted in best practice 

  • Supporting and mentoring other team members 

Skills & Requirements:

  • Extensive demonstrable experience in creating engaging and beautiful digital interfaces 

  • Graphic design background preferred, showing experience of working extensively as a senior UI designer 

  • Working knowledge of established interaction patterns for responsive web, iOS and Android 

  • Proficient with industry-standard tools, such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe creative suite, or InVision 

  • Experience of UI design delivery within agile product teams 

  • Experience in developing design systems, creating, and documenting reusable components, building, and monitoring libraries for both iOS and Android 

  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of Design Thinking and design research methodologies, and accessibility  

  • Passion for visual/UI and interaction design, keeping up to date with digital trends, techniques and emerging UI patterns 

  • Team leadership experience 

  • Exceptional eye for detail 

  • Strong planning, analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills   

  • Broader design skills such as data visualisation, illustration, typography, or brand design would be a plus 

Our work is mainly at or within an hour's travel from our Manchester, Edinburgh or Shoreditch office.
