The Opportunity.

A Business Development Director is responsible for targeting, attracting, and developing new NHS business in line with our strategy and goals.

You will join the Healthcare market unit responsible for the development and implementation of the sales strategy in the NHS to reach defined annual goals and targets.  

We’re looking for a passionate individual with knowledge and experience in business development, who can help us generate new clients and become a role model within the business.

Your role includes. 


·        Contribute to the definition and implementation of the sales and marketing strategy for the approaching the central NHS as part of a global dynamic market unit. 

·        Help grow our Health ecosystem with your domain experience in the Healthcare sector.

·        Sales and Marketing 

·        Business development, go to market and lead generation to win new clients within NHS England and other arms length bodies:  

o   Develop go to market strategies with our functional practices (Cloud, Data, Digital and Devices)

o   Drive lead generating activities with marketing and colleagues in your market unit 

o   Build deep relationships with customer stakeholders, up to and including board level 

o   Identify area of opportunity to generate client value through using Zuhlke 

o   Develop relationships with strategic partners, including cloud partners or others to co-develop and execute business development plans

·        Take a lead role in designing, writing and reviewing proposals and bids for offered services and projects as part of a bid team

·        Win new projects and revenue, through diligent lead generation and converting leads into deals.

·        Collaborate to negotiate contracts and master service agreements 

·        Collaborate to define & support marketing activities 

·        Make relevant market observations: compiling up-to-date market and competitor information 

·        Actively maintain relevant personal network with potential clients and partners to generate business opportunities and leads for the business outside the accounts managed 

·        Maintain the corporate identity as a leading service provider in accordance with the Zuhlke Group vision 

·        Represent Zuhlke in trade organisations and business networks 

Managerial Responsibilities 

·        Coordination of all sales and marketing activities, ensuring effectiveness. 

·        Responsible for creating strong pipeline of sales opportunities to reach growth targets in the UK business 

·        Optimisation of sales activities and weekly update of all sales activities 

·       Support in the Recruitment & Mentoring of new BD managers 

We would love to hear from you if you have the following... 

·        Network of C-level and senior contacts at NHS England or other arm’s length bodies

·        Sales and marketing experience for innovation, bespoke software delivery 

·        Proven track record of winning, nurturing and growing customers 

·        Strong customer focus and able to co-ordinate between with internal stakeholders to execute and deliver on the sales targets 

·        Experienced in defining sales and marketing strategies to support the growth strategies of the clients you manage 

·        Proven networking experience 

·        Knowledge about developing bespoke software solutions 

·        Knowledge about traditional, iterative and agile development 

·        Excellent presentation skills 

·        Very good verbal and written communication skills in English
