Securiton AG provides solutions for mobile facility protection and video surveillance. Hundreds of important temporary infrastructures are in operation worldwide. They house key staff and valuable goods for a short period of time. For a major contract, it was necessary to overhaul the components of the existing facility protection system in order to conduct the assembly, factory acceptance test, site acceptance test and spare parts management efficiently.
Zühlke analysed the current state of four system units that each required individual consideration. In the initial project phase, a list of specifications was drawn up. The conceptual structure was subsequently developed for each unit and discussed with the client. The focus differed for each unit. For the supply unit and concentration unit, mechanical robustness for military requirements was most important; two different camera units were switched from analogue to digital, IP-based image transmission. In the execution phase, the concept was implemented on a prototype for each unit by elaborating the details. The prototype was constructed 1:1 and optimized, with considerable emphasis placed on a high degree of industrialization. After a design review with the customer, Zühlke put together the final comprehensive brief for serial production. It included detailed wiring diagrams and parts lists, specifications for mechanical construction and 3D drawings, as well as photo documentation of the equipment configuration.
