Business-critical system migration successfully accomplished

The migration of their ERP system during regular operation was a business-critical phase for Digitec Galaxus AG. Zühlke assumed responsibility for the overall project management and supported the customer in implementing the migration project on schedule.


Digitec Galaxus AG, operator of the leading Swiss online shop, was about to begin initial operation of a comprehensive ERP system developed in-house. All the core processes were to be switched during regular operation into the new application logic, and all revenues had to be transferred to the new ERP system. In the final phase of the system development, the focus was on ensuring the businesscritical functions. Careful planning was necessary for the conversion of the business processes and the introduction of the new online shop. In addition, the organization of the business and development processes had to be adapted to the more complex parameters. The change project required intensive coordination and communication with a variety of stakeholders. In this delicate phase, Zühlke assumed responsibility for the overall management of the migration project and the team management of the internal business analysts.



Zühlke planned and coordinated the migration with a detailed project plan, which took the customer‘s agile working methods into consideration. Project risks were discussed regularly. In its function as business analysis team leader, Zühlke temporarily took on the role of product owner, planned sprints and releases, and mediated between the participating stakeholders. Zühlke won acceptance for the migration project through regular communication. In addition, the project management supported the customer in several workshops with the reorganization. Zühlke developed a detailed contingency plan for the go-live and a communication concept to keep the participants up-to-date.
