A mobile app was to generate interest in the XDK platform. A key requirement was for a visual representation of sensor data. To reach as many potential users as possible, the app needed to work on both Apple and Android devices and at a range of different screen resolutions. Zühlke was responsible for implementing the app and the Bluetooth LE connection to the XDK, including changes to the embedded software for the XDK.
At the heart of the Virtual XDK mobile app is a 3D representation of the XDK. The virtual XDK reproduces even the tiniest rotations of the physical XDK with no perceptible delay and demonstrates the capabilities of the gyroscopic sensor. Other intuitive demonstration screens enable users to experience for themselves the sensitivity of light, temperature and acoustic sensors.
