The international innovation service provider increased its turnover to CHF 171 million in 2018, and is anticipating further growth.
Schlieren (Zurich), March 25, 2019 – The Zühlke Group reports record figures for the 2018 financial year: turnover increased by 12 percent, to CHF 171 million (EUR 154 million). At the same time, the number of employees increased, and on 31 December 2018 there were a total of 1,070 employees working at 14 locations around the world. The increase was particularly high in Asia, where a second office was opened in that region during the year, in Hong Kong, following on from the opening of the Singapore office in 2017.
For Fabrizio Ferrandina, CEO of the Zühlke Group and the German subsidiary Zühlke Engineering GmbH, the current figures are confirmation that Zühlke is attractively positioned in the markets for both customers and talent. However, Ferrandina looks back positively on the past year not only because of the good financial figures: "What is crucial is that we are advising increasing numbers of customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their products and services from the development and evaluation of new business models through their implementation and optimization to the operation of the finished solution. This strengthens our positioning as a partner for business innovation in a competitive environment."
The Swiss subsidiary of the Zühlke Group can look back on a positive year in 2018. The key areas were financial services and industry. Nicolas Durville, CEO of Zühlke Switzerland: "We have noticed very strong investment activity in the area of innovation and have successfully implemented a number of interesting projects for our customers." A crucial part in this has been the expansion of our consulting services in the area of digital transformation and the collaboration with start-ups and Durville adds, "We are able to support our customers along the entire value chain, from initial idea to market success, and thus be their business innovation partner."
Ferrandina and Durville are also optimistic about 2019. Durville says, "Despite economic uncertainty, companies continue to invest in innovation, and are pushing digitisation forwards. We see great potential, particularly in the area of health tech. Many start-ups and also established companies in this area need a strong partner with the relevant expertise." In 2019, areas such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, distributed development and Groupwide collaboration will be expanded. "The trend among product manufacturers is clearly in the direction of networking, and this is linked to the use of data for new business models. Here, we cover all areas, thereby bringing together the world of the Internet and the world of products," explains Durville.
