Certification course (D10131)
The course content is based on the IREB Advanced Level Requirements Management certificate curriculum.
Time invested in good requirements management quickly pays for itself through improved communication between teams, better customer satisfaction, etc. Requirements management facilitates traceability in regulated environments, and also has an important role to play in agile environments.
Using two different project scenarios, the course illustrates the effects of context in shaping the requirements management process. The exercises invite participants to take on the role of project managers for one agile and one safety-critical project. The course also offers space for participants to share experiences and learn from each other. The course consists of roughly 40% theory and 60% exercises and interaction.
The certification itself consists of two parts and is optional. Participation requires independent preparation prior to the course. The written examination, which is the first part of the certification, is held during the afternoon of the third day. The second part of the certification involves the implementation of the taught course content in the form of a practical assignment. This part is not included in the actual course and is conducted by an independent examiner.
At the end of the course, participants will have in-depth knowledge and skills in requirements management and the activities making up the requirements management process. Specifically, they will be able to set up a requirements management system appropriate to the circumstances of their specific project.
Participants will also be able to recognise stakeholder needs, create appropriate requirement types, attributes and views, or set up an appropriate reporting system.
The course is aimed at specialists in the field, such as business analysts, requirements engineers, project managers, QA managers and other people who wish to obtain advanced requirements management qualifications.
