Certified Requirements Engineering
Description
The course content is based on the syllabus for the international certificate “Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering, Foundation Level”. The focus is on acquiring a solid understanding and practical knowledge of the basic concepts and methods of requirements engineering.
Participants will learn basics and best practices that apply equally to all domains, e.g. embedded systems, systems critical to security or classic information systems. Great emphasis is placed on applying and practicing widely used methods for the development, documentation and testing of requirements engineering.
At the end of the third day participants will have the opportunity to sit the exam conducted by the local certification authority.
Goals
After completing the course, participants will have gained an understanding of the basic motivation for requirements engineering and its role in the overall context of a project. They will have a sound knowledge of how to elicit, analyse, specify, consolidate, document, test and manage requirements. Participants will also be familiar with the main methods for each of these activities and with criteria for selecting the best approach for any given project.
Participants
The course is intended for beginners who have already come into contact with software and systems engineering in their work but who lack basic theoretical knowledge of requirements engineering. Although participants are not required to have a degree in computer science, they should have a basic understanding for software development.
